Witterings 1st Brooks Motor League 1(BML1) match was played on a lovely sunny afternoon against Bognor (Blue) at home and thankfully the forecasted heavy showers stayed away.

The matches on both rinks were enjoyable to watch and were played in good spirit with many excellent bowls being delivered by both sides.

Witterings managed to keep their noses in front throughout both games, pulling away from their both opponents teams towards the end with some high scoring ends of 4 and 5.

Allie Mill, Eric Shoyer, Lindsay Bangs (s)  won 28 – 15

Ron Prior, Anne May, David Gibbons (s)  won 22 – 10

Amended overall match result 60– 15

Well done to everyone who played, hopefully this result is a good omen for the season ahead.

Note

Bognor Regis had a late withdrawal by one of their lady players and substituted a gentleman player in her place.

This resulted in a breach of BML rule 14 stating that all teams must be mixed.

Bognor Regis have deducted 10 points  from their score and increased Witterings score by this amount as agreed by both teams.
