Open Day

We enjoyed a fantastic day in beautiful sunshine for our Open Day. Proceedings were officially opened by Frank Bray, Club President who rolled the first wood of the 2010 season. We were fortunate to have a large number of visitors who all visited the various stalls. These included a cake stall, tombola, plant stall, bookstall, home made greetings cards, books, bric a brac and a raffle.

Out on the green many people tried their hand at bowls for the first time and some were very successful in their attempts - their accuracy frightened some of the established members! Other activities on the green included a putting competition and target bowls with prizes for the winners.

The ladies in the kitchen provided excellent refreshments which were enjoyed by all.

We were very pleased to have a good number of new bowling members join the club as well as a significant number of new associate members, all of whom are very welcome.

All in all, a very successful day. We now look forward to a successful bowling season with the first friendly match next Saturday away at Petworth. We hope the weather will be as kind as it has today.
