Middleton 37 – Middleton 15 C & M League.
A win for Witterings Ladies in this C & M League match which was played in very wet conditions.
As the regulatory eleven ends had been played, it was agreed by eight drenched players to terminate the match after fifteen and fourteen ends respectively.
Diane Leach, Judy Bangs, Anne May, Barbara Newman (s) won 18 - 9
Julie Mulligan,Val Hooker, Maureen Mulligan,Carole Tuffin (s) won 19 - 6
Witterings 14 - Middleton 9 Friendly
Sylvia Smethurst, Sheila Currell, Jackie Clapton and Karen Slogrove (s) won14 - 9
Middleton only brought 3 ladies along but as it was a friendly we adjusted as necessary and I believe they all enjoyed themselves even though they got wet.
Although the weather did finally do as forecast and we got quite wet before we called it a day at and 15 ends, we had a most pleasurable game. The company was good and gave us a hard game, but we stuck at it and finally got hold of the reins and pulled ahead, much to our delight. We look forward to the return game in a couple of weeks time.
