It was a warm, sunny May Sunday afternoon when we travelled to Maltravers for our 2nd round fixture in the Men's Top Club competition. 

Unfortunately we lost which is a shame as the result does not truly reflect the closeness in 3 of the matches.

It took us a long time to get used to the green which was very slow, uneven, not consistent at all throughout the afternoon, it even started cutting up in the latter stages of the afternoon leaving loose tufts of grass on the rinks. However this is no real excuse,  Maltravers were simply able to read the greens more consistently and overcome the green's inconsistances better than we were able to during the match.

We look forward to reversing today's result when our paths next cross.
