RESULT: Emsworth 1st. East Preston & Bourne joint. 

On a cool September afternoon nine teams from clubs in Surrey,  East and West Sussex and Witterings home team were welcomed by the Ladies Captain Sheila Currell and President Fred Knotts.

The afternoon began with a ‘spider’ with all proceeds going to the chosen charity for this year followed by three games of eight ends with a change of opponents after each match.

After the matches afternoon tea was served in the pavilion by members Val Hooker, Margaret Bowell and Diane Leach who had laid tables and served food to rival the Ritz!

The winners of the afternoon were Emsworth with 29 points who were awarded the trophy along with a gift voucher.

East Preston and Bourne both gained 23 points, an unprecedented tie, so gift vouchers were awarded equally between the two teams.

The awards were presented by Amy Smith, manager of the local branch of Henry Adams Estate Agents who had kindly sponsored this event.
